Call to Arms

Vikings as we formalise a new tradition for our club in making a dawn row to the bend near St Lucia Golf Club , I would like to invite you to join us on ANZAC Day at 5 am in full club racing colours if possible so that we might lead a flotilla of viiis from invitation clubs up the river. We will boat from our shed at 5 am to be in place for sunrise at 545 -6 am .

The “Last Post and Revile “ will be bugled by Harold Hope one of our resident Buglers ( Hoofy is the other one) . This will be followed by a minutes silence and Deeb Morgan’s poem Ode to Anzacs.

We will then challenge all other boats who attend to a scratch drag race over 500 meters Green Rock buoy to Somerville shed before rowing home for a Bar B Que Breaky for those who can stay .

Need the following Volunteers

Cooking crew for Bar B Cue please.

A“two up flapper”

A tinny driver to take Drone operator up and back and resuscitate bugler if we do a Hoofy on the way to the meeting point!!

An Official starter to ensure a fair start for our club boats!!

Please confirm your availability by going to the events diary and registering for both the row and breaky separately for catering numbers . Please send an email or sms to Toby 0419199605 if you would like a son or daughter or spouse etc to row with us . Please note Club members will have precedence over guests. However, we will do our best to get everyone in boats.

I am hoping Tatts, Redlegs, Grammar, and possibly BBC , Commercial and Toowong might boat with us.

Thank you to those who rowed this morning . Happy Easter to you all and your families .

Regards
